Check Engine Light
If the car runs and feels normal, you can drive it. Have it checked soon so a small problem stays small.
What it usually is
The engine computer saw a fault and saved a code. The common ones are a loose gas cap, an oxygen sensor, a small leak in the system or a light misfire.

Try first. Make sure the gas cap is tight. The light can take a few days of driving to go off.
